Purex Tropical Splash Detergent… try a bottle!

PurexTropicalAnother day, another Purex review… This time for Purex Tropical Splash Laundry Detergent. I am not usually a fan of smelly detergents, so when I opened the bottle and got a good whiff of its combination of pineapple and coconut, I wasn’t sure what to think. Have no fear, during the wash the scent softens and after drying you get a subtle hint of the tropics. Not to overwhelming for those of us with sensitive noses.

-Hypoallergenic and dye-free formula doesn’t irritate sensitive skin

-DirtLift Action

-Part of the #1 selling Natural Elements brand

Soft Scrub Advanced Surface… TRY FOR FREE!

SoftScrubAdvancedAnother day, another review… This time for Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Cleaner + Polish. It says it is supposed to get hard to remove stains from Granite, Stainless Steel, Marble and Glass Cooktops. I have quite a few on my Glass Cooktop (as you can see on the left – yuck), and I have had good results with Soft Scrub in the past so I was interested to see how well it would work.

As you can see from my before and afters… there really wasn’t much change at all. I followed the directions, first cleaning with the gel; when that didn’t seem to do much I let it sit for 5 minutes and “soak” the stains, then scrubbed; some was removed but not anything to write home about. It definitely polished the glass but the stains were still all pretty much intact.

If you would like to try a bottle of Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Cleaner + Polish for FREE and see if you have better luck, please comment and tell me what other ways you can get a glass cooktop clean!

Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care… FREE COUPON!

SoftScrub4-in-1When I had the opportunity to try and review the NEW Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Carel cleaner, I was estatic… As most (normal) people, I do not really enjoy cleaning the toilet, especially the guest one that rarely gets use and has a tendency to grow things in the bowl. I clipped on the 4-in-1 to the side of the bowl and sat back and watched what happened.

And I have to say I am THOROUGHLY impressed. I have not tried the cleaning drops in the tank or anything else besides the normal gels and toilet bowl cleaners, and this one has so far kept my cleaning skills at bay. I have not had to additionally clean this toilet bowl since I put it in a few weeks ago! THAT makes me happy!!!

Every flush grabs some of the cleaning power, and I like how there are some soap bubbles in the water after every flush – it affirms to me that it is actually cleaning at every flush.

I have been given some coupons to give away to my readers! If you would like to try one for FREE please leave a comment as to what YOUR least favorite chore around the house is.

Soft Scrub is also having a Brighter Bowl Sweepstakes featuring NEW Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care! One lucky winner will receive $1,000, while 250 second place winners get to try NEW Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet care for FREE!

Dial’s NEW Coconut Water Hydrating Body Wash… FREE!

DialCoconutWaterThe latest of my review opportunities is Dial’s NEW Coconut Water Body Wash. I know that there have been a lot of new products revolving around coconut water, as must be the latest trend, so I was interested to try this. I also had my husband try it, and we both had about the same reaction to it.

I was expecting the scent to be a very overwhelming Hawaiian theme, but surprisingly, it was a very subtle floral scent that smelled very “fresh”. It was a little slick when you put it on, and took a bit to get it completely rinsed off. But overall I liked  it, my skin afterwards feels very soft and clean without any residue. I really didn’t need to moisturize much after.

Some interesting facts I found about coconut water on the Dial website: it’s found in young, green coconuts and known to be rich in antioxidants and electrolytes that provide replenishing hydration. A leading trend in the food and beverage category (see! I knew it!), coconut water is known as “super water” for its natural hydration and health benefits.

Interested in trying a bottle for yourself? Go to Dial’s Facebook page and leave a note that I sent you, then just comment on my post that you did. It’s that easy! The first 3 to mention me get a coupon for a free bottle.

Borax – Great for so many different things…

BoraxPurex provided me with a sample of 20 Mule Team Borax so I could review it. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

This time I was given the opportunity to review Borax, which I have read/heard about for a while but never tried. I first off had heard it was similar to OxiClean or Baking Soda in that it helps bleach so I wanted to try it when stripping my diapers. After a little research I found that there are about 50/50 that say to use it and not use it. It seemed to work fine for me, bleached my diapers well enough with no funky smell or after-residue.

After dealing with a sick 6 month old, I also found that Borax is great for cleaning up pretty much anything… as my carpet that was doused with internal liquid is now clean and sparkly (not really… but you know what I mean). 😛

There are seriously so many ways you can use Borax around the house… Sanitizing the sink, pots and pans, oven, microwave, tile/grout, china, sprinkling in diaper pail to neutralize the odor… the list goes on and on. I am going to dilute it in water and put into a spray bottle, and mist my diapers when they are sunning on the line to get a little extra boost of bleach.

Some other facts:
-Borax is 100% natural mineral from the earth.
-Common name for sodium tetraborate, which is a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.
-Nothing is added; no phosphates, chlorine or other additive chemicals. Once Borax is removed from the ground, it is washed, dried and boxed for consumers.
-Naturally softens hard water! Over 85% of homes have “hard water”.
-When added to laundry, it improves your detergent’s cleaning power, and helps keep stains from being re-deposited back onto clothes.
-Visit their website www.20muleteamlaundry.com for more information and where you can buy Borax.

PurexBaby

Purex provided me with a sample of Purex Baby so I could review it. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

Hi there! Me again, your local Purex pusher… haha…

This time I was sent Purex Baby to sample and review, and I was so excited… after use I knew I had reason.

I have been buying more expensive detergent mainly for my cloth diapers, since they require a more natural based baby detergent, and using it for my baby clothes/baby stains as well. Now I don’t have to… Purex Baby Detergent does a great job of getting stains out and still keeping in mind the sensitive baby skin of Tanner. AND for a fraction of the price. 🙂

Some other fun facts: It’s specifically designed to work in all washers (Top loaders and HE front loaders); the dermatologist-tested formula guarantees to remove stubborn stains without hurting delicate clothes, like baby type footie jammies; Hypoallergenic; and last but not least, gentle baby-inspired fragrance 🙂

It’s not available in every store, so use the store locator to find a distributor near you.

ENTER TO WIN THE PUREX “OH BABY” SWEEPSTAKES! You could win one of 3 $500 grand prizes, or a free bottle of detergent…

Purex with Oxi – Free detergent!

Purex plus OxiPurex provided me with a sample of Purex plus Oxi so I could review it. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

Having a two year old in the house has its challenges… especially when it comes to keeping him clean. There are days I look at him after a full day of fun and play and wonder how the heck he got that dirty… and then I remember he’s 2! 😛 I usually will use my regular Purex and add Oxi to it (I also use Oxi for my cloth diapers so I have it in bulk!) so when Purex sent me the Purex plus Oxi, I thought it was the best of both worlds. It’s great because it gets everything just as clean as using both separately, and so much more convenient. I have used it after races (ground in mud/dirt), after playing in the grass (grass stains, one occasion of dog poop – yuck! ) and daycare everyday use and everything comes out completely clean.

Check out the Purex plus Oxi page for more info!

I would recommend it to anyone… and on that note… a contest!

The first three people to share this blog post get coupon for a free bottle of Purex plus Oxi! 🙂
