CVS and Walgreens 5/28/10…

I forgot to post this last week:

CVS and Walgreens 5/28/10

CVS:
4 Old Spice Body Washes reg $4.99 ea, on sale $4 ea =$16 total
Used (2) B1G1 free coupons [-$8] and (1) $1/2 coupon [-$1] = $9 off
New total $7 and got $8 ECB back
4 Nivea Body Washes reg $5.99 ea, on sale $4.99 ea = $19.96 total
Used (2) B1G1 free coupons [-$9.98] and (2) $4 coupons [-$8] = $17.98 off
New total $1.98 and got $$5 ECB back
Hydro Razor $6.99 (raincheck from last week) and got $7 in ECBs back

So total: $15.97 + tax, had $3 off $15 CVS coupon, used $11.99 in past ECBs
Grand total: 98¢ + tax on gift card, paid $0 OOP, and got back $20 in ECBs for next time.

How do I spend $0 oop at CVS? Here’s the trick:
When I first started the drugstore game, CVS had some “Get $25 gift certificate with new or tranferred prescription” coupons out. Between Ben and I we had 4 prescriptions we could transfer, so we did and I started off with $100 in gift certificates. FREE MONEY, since we were going to fill our prescriptions somewhere anyways. That was the basis of my CVS stash, so in the last year I have had to spend almost nothing out of pocket. I just used the gift cards to pay the pennies due and tax. I am down to my last 2 gift cards, until their next pharmacy promotion! 🙂

Walgreens:
Transaction #1:
Brush $3.99 (needed, paid full price)
Barrettes $2.99 got $2.99 in RR (Register Rewards) back = FREE
Carefree: $1.59 – Wags coupon made it 99¢ – $1 coupon = FREE
Ibuprofren $4 (needed, paid full price)
Pain Reliever $7.99 (needed, paid full price)
Complete Eye Solution $7.99 – $2 coupon = $5.99 and got $8 in RR back = $2 money maker
Colgate $2.99 – $1 coupon = $1.99 and got $2 in RR back = FREE
Huggies x 2 $9 ea – (2) $3 coupons = $12 and got $3 in RR back = $4.50/pack

Total: $49.54 – $10.60 coupons = $38.94 – $9 in past RR = $29.94 + tax and got $16 RR back for next time

Transaction #2:
Huggies $9 ea x 2 = $18 – (2) $3 coupons = $12 + tax and got $3 back

So I spent $41.94 + tax and have $19 RR to use for next time…
